Welcome to the Activity and Web-Based Post-Calculus Probability and Statistics Project Website

This project involves the adaptation and implementation (A&I) of activity and web-based materials into post-calculus introductory probability and statistics courses at Middle Tennessee State University, Athens State University, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  The materials for A&I are:

• Virtual Laboratories in Probability and Statistics (VLPS) created by Dr. Kyle Siegrist of the University of Alabama in Huntsville
• A Data-Oriented, Active Learning, Post-Calculus Introduction to Statistical Concepts, Methods, and Theory (SCMT) created by Drs. Allan Rossman and Beth Chance, both of California Polytechnic State University and Karla Ballman of Macalester College.  

This website contains much information about the project including our original proposal, the project events (including workshops for high-school and college faculty), teaching materials, etc.  We hope you find the information contained here helpful.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

This collaborative project is funded by the National Science Foundation,  the University of Alabama in Huntsville (Dr. Tracy Goodson Espy via DUE-126401), and Middle Tennessee State University (Dr. Ginger Holmes Rowell via DUE-0126600).  Part of the initial effort (academic year 2002/2003) was also funded at Athens State University (Dr. Leigh Lunsford via DUE-0126716) and is now being continued at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (Dr. Leigh Lunsford via DUE-0350724).
